Within 3 months of the formation of Goldwyn Pictures, Sam Goldwyn had signed Madge Kennedy to a big movie contract. Goldwyn was at his best when it came to publicity. It was Goldwyn himself who gave Madge the title of "winsome," and Madge was as winsome and sweet as her light comedies suggested. Madge Kennedy performed in films from 1917-1976 and on Broadway from 1912-1932.

In 1930 actress and model Dorothy Knapp was the first woman to sign a contract with NBC. She was hired to give beauty talks on NBC Station W2XBS in New York.

You'll often find her mentioned on Louise Brook's web pages as they starred together in the 1925 Ziegfeld Follies, the only Follies Louise Brooks was ever in. She also performed in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1924.
